When Opportunity comes knocking...
Yesterday, I began to work on the cover photo for upcoming issue The Blue Plate magazine. Something happens out of nowhere. I'm hungry and don't have anything to eat. I was not in the mood to cook a big lunch either. After all, I take pictures of food every day of the week. Unbelievably, I didn't have a clue what I was going to cook for lunch. My oldest daughter suggests I make my Flatbread Shrimp with Red Sauce Pizza. I agree to make this dish because doesn't take long to cook and I had all of the ingredients to cook it.
Red Tomato Sauce
1 brunch beefsteak tomatoes
1 can tomato paste (Hunts)
1/2 tablespoon brown sugar
1 garlic glove
extra olive oil
1. Simmer tomatoes in a saucepan filled with half cup of water. Allow tomatoes to boil for 30 minutes.
2. Bake the whole garlic in foil paper for
30 minutes in the oven.
3. Pour tomato sauce in a processor, add the garlic, brown sugar blend for 10 minutes.
I love to cook this pizza because of simplicty and the sweet, savory garlicky smell of the red tomato sauce cooking fills up the kitchen room. Plus, I had an opportunity to teach my daughter how to prepare and cook this easy quick dish.
What makes this dish quick, easy recipe because of the ingredients that are store bought which save a lot time in making a pizza from scratch. Before you spread that beautiful fresh red tomato sauce onto the flatbread. Place buttery garlic sauce underneath flatbread into the oven to cook less 10 minutes. After the ten minutes, it's time to take the flatbread pizza out the oven to add delicious red sauce to the cook flatbread.
The picture below shows a delicious looking pizza after adding the ingredients to the flatbread. The red roasted peppers up show the red sauce along with the red onions taking the lead to show off in the picture.
Finally, we can add in the rest of the ingredients to this fabulous easy quick lunch or dinner dish. The shrimp has been prepared before placing onto the pizza. After placing the precook shrimp onto the pizza, remember to add in the cheese. Now it's time to put the pizza back in the oven with all of the toppings, bake in the oven for 15 minutes.
